The South Western Regional Drug & Alcohol Task Force Clg. (SWRDATF) brings together a wide range of representatives who collectively have developed an integrated holistic strategy to address the substance use and its associated problems in the Kildare, West Wicklow and South West Dublin areas. The Task Force are currently developing its team therefore wish to recruit the following position:
Family Support Worker Part-time (21 hours)
The SWRDATF are now recruiting a Family Support worker to fulfil this exciting new role and invite applicants to apply for the part-time social care position. The successful candidate will develop and provide evidence-based supports to reduce the stress & health related problems experienced by families & children in the South Western Regional Drug & Alcohol Task Force Clg.(SWRDATF) area, associated with familial drug & alcohol use The aim of the service is to provide a safe space for those impacted by a loved one’s substance to communicate their concerns, develop their coping skills, avail of professional support where needed and connect with others who experience similar situations. Family Members are central to the development of Family Support services in the SWRDATF region and it is paramount their involvement be valued at all times. This post has been developed in line with the National Drug Strategy, Reducing Harm Supporting Recovery Goal Two, Action 2.1.16 and 2.1.17.
An aptitude for group work & facilitation, holistic service delivery and a minimum of 2 years experience is required as well. S/he will be employed by the South Western Regional Drug and Alcohol Task Force company limited by guarantee on an initial 12 month fixed term contract including a 6 month probationary period.
Salary: HSE Social Care Worker scale, point 1 (pro-rata)
